Custom Job – Couldn’t be Happier
We had laminate floors installed in November. We have an old house with coil radiators. We also had severe termite damage so I had my doubts as to how well the job would turn out. Our installer, Dan Oullette and his team of Mark and Bruce went far beyond our expectations. They ripped out the termite damaged hardwood boards and fit in plywood before covering with the laminate. They cut the laminate to fit around the feet of the radiators and filled in the gaps with caulking that matched the flooring so you can barely notice the cuts. It did take them 2 days to install instead of the promised one day due to the detail they needed to do but that was fine because they made sure things were done correctly. Craftsmen, Not Installers
Your installers put down hand scraped wood. What a beautiful job. Much more than installers. I’d call them “craftsmen” I couldn’t find a flaw anywhere. We feel your customer rep was on top of the whole sale. He knows the product line and explained all our options. Unlike other companies, the job wasn’t over measured. The hand scraped floor finished our kitchen remodel very nicely.

Less Expensive Than Other Local Flooring Stores
We replaced our carpeting with hardwood flooring in our living room, dining room, two staircases and upstairs hallway in August, 2012. We couldn’t be happier. The product was top quality, the installation was great as well. One thing I do want to say is that we were told the install would take 2 days and it ended up taking 4 days due to NO fault of the installers. Because we chose the 2-1/4″ boards, it took longer and the job wasn’t estimated for the correct amount of time so take that into consideration when purchasing hardwood flooring from them. The biggest surprise to us was that Empire was less expensive than any other local flooring stores I would have considered—by over $500 and closer to $1,000 less and that didn’t include the tearing up of the old carpeting and haul-away, and moving the furniture around—that’s a HUGE advantage. I would recommend Empire to anyone wanting hardwood flooring—it was the best contractor experience we have had in all aspects.
